JOSEPH  FULLER  STAMP  VARIATIONS
JO FULLER

Fuller's first stamp; known to tool collectors as the "Three Dot".

Note: The stamp is taller but shorter than his later stamps and having 3 dots between JO and FULLER.

IN
PROVIDENCE

Fuller's second stamp, using 3 separate stamps, can be seen on this five inch crown molder.

Note: Arrow image to the right of the "R" in Fuller and one to the right of the "N" in the center stamp.

JO, FULLER
PROVIDENCE

The most common stamp has the same name and location stamps used in the previous variant, without the "IN".

Note: It appears the stamp was quite new when this imprint was struck as the arrow image is still crisp. Both stamps are exactly the same length.

JO, FULLER
PROVIDENCE

This plane has flat chamfers and to the naked eye the stamp appears to lack the arrow image. Upon close inspection however, the faint trace of the arrow can be seen.

Note:  The notches at the ends of both stamps have been refiled; also the right end of the Providence stamp has become shorter .

JO, FULLER
PROVIDENCE

The faint arrow can also be seen on this plane with rounded chamfers and relieved wedge. This is still however the same JO, FULLER stamp that had been used first on the "IN PROVIDENCE" planes.

Note: First sign of rounding over at ends of both stamps.

JO, FULLER
PROVIDENCE

This is one of the last planes made using this Fuller stamp. It had the rounded chamfers and non relieved wedge usually found on planes having the smaller Jo FULLER stamp.

Note: Pronounced rounding of the ends of both stamps

JoFULLER
PROVIDENCE

Fuller's last imprint used a new Jo FULLER stamp along with the original Providence stamp.

Note: Why a new stamp was needed and why it was made so much smaller than the Providence stamp remains open for speculation.

ISAAC. FIELD
PROVIDENCE

Isaac used Fuller's Providence stamp after Fuller's death. Isaac has rounded off the ends of his own name stamp to match the Providence stamp.

Note: This image was reduced in width to line up with the images above. All Providence stamps on this page are the same size.

ISAAC. FIELD

Isaac's original stamp with notches at ends.

Note: The length of this image was also modified to fit the space available.
